Drivers should stay to the right for Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North and then follow signs to I-66 West.

FAIRFAX, Va. – Lane closures and temporary ramp closures are scheduled for overnight hours this Saturday, October 6, on the ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville, and Sunday, October 7, on the ramp from southbound Route 29 Centreville to westbound I-66.  Closures are needed for construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX, Va. – The ramp from northbound Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) to westbound I-66 will be closed from midnight to 3 a.m. tonight for emergency repairs to a crash attenuator that was struck by a vehicle over the weekend.

FAIRFAX, Va. - Overnight lane closures will begin on or about Sunday, August 26, on eastbound I-66 and will continue for approximately two months, weather permitting. The lane closures will happen nightly from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow crews to strengthen and repave the outside (right) shoulder of eastbound I-66 between the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) and Fairfax Drive (Exit 71). Once completed, all I-66 eastbound travel lanes will be shifted toward the right side of the road and temporary traffic barriers will be installed on the left side of the roadway so that crews can begin widening work in the median. This work is part of the I-66 Inside the Beltway Eastbound Widening Project.

FAIRFAX, Va. - The ramp from I-66 West to northbound and southbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) will be closed on Thursday, August 23, and Friday, August 24, from midnight to 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured to the US Route 50 Interchange where drivers will exit onto eastbound US Route 50 then take the left exit onto eastbound I-66 back toward Route 123. Closures are needed for construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway project. 

FAIRFAX, Va. - Ramp closures affecting westbound I-66 are scheduled during overnight hours this Wednesday, August 15 and Thursday, August 16 for construction on the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Drivers should follow signed detour routes. Crews will be installing concrete barriers along the newly shifted travel lanes on I-66.

FAIRFAX, Va. -  Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages on eastbound and westbound I-66 between I-495 and Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) Friday and Saturday nights, July 20 and 21, for crews to remove overhead gantries.

FAIRFAX, Va. -  Half-price bus fares and expanded carpool, vanpool and telework incentives are available beginning this month for commuters and employers along the I-66 corridor through programs sponsored by the Virginia Department of Transportation and local partners as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway project.  The programs encourage northern Virginia residents and workers to find alternatives to driving alone on I-66 as construction accelerates on the 22.5-mile project corridor, which runs from I-495 to Route 29 near Gainesville.

FAIRFAX, Va. – Overnight lane closures previously scheduled on Route 28 in both directions between Braddock Road and Westfields Boulevard are now scheduled to occur tonight, April 27, and Saturday night, April 28. On Sunday night, April 29, overnight lane closures are scheduled on westbound I-66 between Sudley Road (Route 234 Business) and Route 29 (Gainesville) in Prince William County, and will continue during overnight hours the week of April 30. FAIRFAX, Va. - Overnight lane closures are scheduled to occur on westbound I-66 between Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) and U.S. Route 50 and on eastbound I-66 at I-495 this coming weekend, April 13-15. Crews will shift travel lanes and set up work zones to allow for construction on the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

FAIRFAX, Va. - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced today that starting in late March, crews will begin installing concrete barriers, shifting lanes and setting up work zones on sections of I-66 Outside the Beltway, ramping up construction on the Transform I-66 initiative. This early work will allow heavier construction to begin on the new express lanes and other improvements that are being built along the 22.5-mile project corridor on I-66 between I-495 and Gainesville. Construction on the $2.3 billion design-build project is scheduled to run until late 2022.
