FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the I-66 interchanges at I-495, Route 50, and Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

FAIRFAX – Overnight lane closures and traffic stoppages on I-66 East and West near Jermantown Road are scheduled next Friday night, December 4, for overhead bridge work for the new Jermantown Road Bridge over I-66. 

FAIRFAX – Overnight lane closures on I-66 East and West approaching Gallows Road are scheduled to continue next week for overhead bridge work on the new Gallows Road Bridge over I-66. Lane closures and stoppages will occur on eastbound I-66 Monday night, November 30, through Thursday night, December 3. On westbound I-66, lane closures and stoppages will occur Wednesday night, December 2, and Thursday night, December 3. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – The new, permanent ramp from Route 28 North to the new Braddock Road/Walney Road overpass over Route 28 will open on Wednesday, November 25, as part of the I-66 Outside the Beltway Project’s Route 28 interchange improvements.

FAIRFAX – I-66 East drivers headed to Exit 44 (Route 234 Bypass/Prince William Parkway) will be detoured to use Exit 43A-B (Route 29 Gainesville) to reach the Prince William Parkway through Dec. 4 due to Transform 66 Outside the Beltway construction activities that require closing direct access from I-66 East to Exit 44.

FAIRFAX – The reconstructed Vaden Drive Bridge over I-66 is scheduled to open by Wednesday, November 25, reconnecting Saintsbury Drive with Country Creek Road/Virginia Center Boulevard near the Vienna-Fairfax/GMU Metrorail Station.

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours this weekend and next week at several I-66 interchanges for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – The Poplar Tree Road extension and bridge over Route 28 are scheduled to open on or about Sunday morning, November 22, connecting Walney Road and Stringfellow Road on the east with Stonecroft Boulevard and Westfields Boulevard on the west side of Route 28.

FAIRFAX – Lane closures on I-66 East and West approaching Gallows Road are scheduled to continue next week during the overnight hours Sunday, November 22, through Tuesday, November 24, for overhead bridge work on the new Gallows Road Bridge over I-66

FAIRFAX – Overnight lane closures and traffic stoppages on I-66 East and West near Jermantown Road are scheduled to continue next week for overhead bridge work for the new Jermantown Road Bridge over I-66.

FAIRFAX – A new, permanent ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East will open on or about Friday morning, November 20.

FAIRFAX – Overnight lane closures on I-66 East and West approaching Gallows Road are scheduled to continue next week during the overnight hours Monday, November 16, through Thursday, November 19, for overhead bridge work at the new Gallows Road Bridge over I-66. Work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours this weekend and next week at several I-66 interchanges for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

FAIRFAX – Overnight lane closures and brief traffic stoppages on I-66 East and West near Jermantown Road are scheduled to continue next week for bridge beam installation for the new Jermantown Road Bridge over I-66. Lane closures and stoppages will occur on I-66 East Sunday, November 15, through Tuesday, November 17, and in both directions on I-66 Wednesday, November 18, through Friday, November 20. The work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX - Drivers exiting I-66 East at Nutley Street will use a new, temporary ramp and traffic signal to reach northbound Nutley Street beginning on or about Saturday, November 21, as construction of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project continues. 

FAIRFAX – Overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages are planned next week on I-66 East and West between Stringfellow Road and West Ox Road so that crews can remove overhead gantries as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – I-66 West in Centreville will be reduced to one travel lane during overnight hours on Friday, November 13, beginning at 9:30 p.m. to shift traffic to a new bridge span over Route 29 (Lee Highway). After this shift is completed, the I-66 West general purpose lanes will be in their ultimate alignment for the reconstructed I-66/Route 29 Centreville Interchange as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages are planned for I-66 East and West at Waples Mill Road on Wednesday night, November 18, between midnight and 4 a.m., so that Verizon can perform a line relocation. Drivers should expect periodic traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes each in both directions of I-66 simultaneously. Work is needed for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages are planned for I-66 East and West at Stringfellow Road on Tuesday night, November 17, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., so that Dominion Energy can perform a line relocation. Up to three 20-minute traffic stoppages are planned to occur simultaneously in both directions of I-66 to accommodate this work, which is needed for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – The ramp from I-66 West to northbound Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) is scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, November 20, through 5 a.m. Monday, November 23, for paving operations for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours this weekend and next week at the I-66 interchanges at I-495, Nutley Street, Route 28, Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville, Route 234 (Prince William Parkway), and Route 29 Gainesville for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

FAIRFAX – Overnight lane closures and stoppages on I-66 East and West approaching Gallows Road are scheduled to continue next week for overhead work on the new Gallows Road Bridge over I-66. 

FAIRFAX – Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic 20-minute stoppages on I-66 West between West Ox Road and Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Monday, November 9, for overhead gantry removal as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Stoppages will occur between midnight and 4 a.m. 

FAIRFAX – Bridge beam installation for the new Jermantown Road Bridge over I-66 will continue next week with lane closures and stoppages during overnight hours on I-66 as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Work is scheduled to occur in both directions on Monday night, November 9; the remaining nights (Tuesday, November 10, through Friday, November 13) are planned to impact only I-66 West. Drivers should expect delays if traveling in this area during these times and should consider using alternate routes.

FAIRFAX – New ramps will open connecting Braddock Road, Route 28, and I-66 West between Saturday, November 7, and Monday morning, November 9, as part of continued traffic pattern changes happening at the I-66/Route 28 Interchange area for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Route 28 North will be shifted to a new bridge over I-66 beginning on or about the morning of Wednesday, November 4.

FAIRFAX – The ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North is scheduled to close between 11:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. tonight, November 3, to accommodate work shifting Route 28 North to a new bridge over I-66 as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West, then follow signs back to Route 28 North.

FAIRFAX – The right turn from Route 28 South to Braddock Road will permanently close to traffic beginning around 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 5.
