FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – There will be multiple ramp closures tonight, Tuesday, December 21, at the I-66/Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) Interchange for equipment relocation as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.  

FAIRFAX – The ramp from northbound I-495 to I-66 East will be closed during the overnight hours Monday night, December 20, through Wednesday night, December 22, from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for bridge pier construction. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West to Nutley Street, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Nutley Street South, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.

FAIRFAX – Demolition of the old Gallows Road Bridge over I-66 continues with demolition of bridge piers along I-66 West during overnight hours this weekend, Friday and Saturday, December 17-18, and next week, Monday through Wednesday, December 20-22. The Gallows Road Bridge is being replaced as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Lane closures and ramp closures on I-495 North and I-66 East will be implemented during the overnight hours again this week, December 13-17, as bridge beam installation for a new flyover ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West continues at the I-66/I-495 Interchange as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Demolition of the old Gallows Road Bridge over I-66 is planned to continue this weekend with demolition of the northern bridge abutment during the daytime hours Saturday and Sunday, December 11-12. Bridge beams over I-66 West and the Metrorail Orange Line and Dunn Loring Metrorail Station will be removed during overnight hours next week, Monday through Friday, December 13-17. The Gallows Road Bridge is being replaced as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Demolition of the old Route 28 South bridge abutments will require lane and ramp closures on I-66 West this weekend, December 11-12, and throughout the week of December 13-18. Planned traffic impacts include nightly closures of the ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 South and two travel lanes on I-66 West.

FAIRFAX – Lane closures and ramp closures on I-495 North and I-66 East continue during the overnight hours this weekend, December 10-12, as bridge beam installation continues at the I-66/I-495 Interchange as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – A full closure of I-495 South (Capital Beltway Outer Loop) at I-66 is planned during the overnight hours tonight, Monday, December 6, and tomorrow night, Tuesday, December 7, for continued bridge beam installation at the I-66/I-495 Interchange. Traffic will be detoured around the closure via I-66 West and Nutley Street. The 495 Express Lanes South will also be closed, as will the ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South and several 495 Express Lanes ramps.  

FAIRFAX – Overnight demolition of the old Gallows Road Bridge over I-66 will continue Sunday night, December 5, through Saturday night, December 11, with nightly multi-lane closures on westbound I-66. Crews will be breaking up the old concrete bridge deck over I-66 West and removing old bridge beams over I-66 West and the Metrorail Orange Line and Dunn Loring Metrorail Station. The Gallows Road Bridge is being replaced as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
