Lane Closures

No lane closures will be implemented between noon on Friday, August 30, and noon on Tuesday, September 3, due to the Labor Day holiday weekend.

I-66 East and West from Route 29 Gainesville to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road)
Monday, August 26, through Thursday, August 29: 11 a.m. to noon
Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations on I-66 East and West between University Boulevard and Route 234 (Prince William Parkway). Stoppages will also occur on northbound Route 234 (Prince William Parkway) just north of the exit to I-66 East, and on the ramp from Route 29 to I-66 East.

I-66 West ramp to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North
August 14 through the end of October
The interchange is being re-constructed to provide direct access to and from the future eastbound and westbound I-66 Express Lanes. These improvements require a series of traffic pattern changes during construction. Drivers traveling on I-66 West to Route 123 North toward Oakton began using a new, temporary exit ramp on August 14. The temporary ramp has two right-turn lanes and a traffic signal to allow drivers to access Route 123 North. The ramp from I-66 West to Route 123 South remains in use during this time.
