FAIRFAX – Demolition of the ramp from I-66 West to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) South, and partial demolition of the Waples Mill Road bridge over I-66 will continue during daytime and nighttime hours this weekend and next week.

FAIRFAX - Overnight lane closures and periodic full stoppages of traffic will be implemented next week for overhead sign gantry removal on I-66 East and Route 50 East as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Route 29 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction at I-66 tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 1, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. The left lane on Route 29 North from O’Day Drive to I-66, and the left lane on Route 29 South from Trinity Parkway (West) to I-66 will both be closed. These lane closures are needed to allow for construction of center piers for the new I-66 bridges over Route 29 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. The ramps to and from I-66 East and West will remain open. 

FAIRFAX – The left lane of southbound Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) will close for about two weeks between Vandor Lane and I-66 starting on or about Sunday, Feb. 2, at 9 p.m.

FAIRFAX - Demolition of the current ramp from I-66 West to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) South, and partial demolition of the Waples Mill Road bridge over I-66 will require overnight lane closures on I-66 East and West between Blake Lane and Monument Drive starting Monday, Jan. 27, through Saturday, Feb. 1.

FAIRFAX – Several ramp closures will be necessary during the overnight hours throughout the I-66 corridor this week for crews to perform utility work, set concrete barrier, and implement traffic pattern changes for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages are planned for I-66 East and West on Tuesday, Jan. 28, and Wednesday, Jan. 29, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., so that Dominion Energy can remove overhead lines at Jermantown Road.

FAIRFAX – Waples Mill Road over I-66 will be reduced to a single lane on or about Friday, Jan. 24.

FAIRFAX – Two traffic changes are planned for the I-66 West exit to north and southbound Route 123/Chain Bridge Road (Exit 60) beginning on or about this Friday night, Jan. 24, to accommodate reconstruction of the interchange, which will include future access to the I-66 Express Lanes.

FAIRFAX - Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages next week on eastbound and westbound I-66 between Compton Road and Route 28, and on Route 28 South between Westfields Boulevard and Braddock Road for overhead gantry removal.

FAIRFAX – Ramp closures are planned for next Tuesday and Thursday nights for crews to perform utility work for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

FAIRFAX – Bridge beam installation for the new Poplar Tree Road bridge over Route 28 will require closure of Route 28 between Braddock Road and Westfields Boulevard during the overnight hours Monday, Jan. 27, through Thursday, Jan. 30. Closures are planned for Route 28 North the first two nights, followed by Route 28 South the next two nights. Closures are needed to safely install bridge beams over the roadway and ramps. 

FAIRFAX – The left-turn lane and ramp from northbound Route 29 to I-66 East in Centreville will close for approximately four months beginning on or about Thursday, Jan. 16.

FAIRFAX – The ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 in Centreville is scheduled to close temporarily during overnight hours on Monday, Jan. 13. Additionally, on Tuesday night, Jan. 14, the ramp from I-66 East to the 495 Express Lanes South will be closed. Closures are needed for crews to perform utility work and remove overhead gantries for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

FAIRFAX - Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages for overhead gantry removal next week on eastbound and westbound I-66 between Bull Run Drive and Route 29 Centreville, and between Cedar Lane and Blake Lane.

FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages are planned for I-66 East and West on Tuesday, Jan. 14, and Wednesday, Jan. 15, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., so that Dominion Energy can install new overhead lines near Jermantown Road. Both nights there will be three full stoppages of 20 minutes each in both directions of I-66 simultaneously to accommodate this work, which is needed for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX - The ramp from I-66 West to northbound Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) will be closed Friday, Jan. 10, and Saturday, Jan. 11, from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. 

FAIRFAX – Two ramp closures are scheduled for the overnight hours of Tuesday, Jan. 7, for crews to perform utility work for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

FAIRFAX – Overhead work on new bridges at the Route 28 and I-66 Interchange will require lane and ramp closures on I-66 East and Route 28 North and South during the overnight hours Sunday, Jan. 5, through Thursday, Jan. 9.
