Daytime Closure of Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street North Planned for Monday, June 29, for Utility Work

FAIRFAX – The ramp from westbound I-66 to northbound Nutley Street is scheduled to close during daytime hours Monday, June 29, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., so that Dominion Energy can work on overhead wires along the ramp as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX - Drivers can expect overnight lane closures and periodic stoppages on I-66 East and West next week for overhead gantry removal between Route 28 and Stringfellow Road and for utility relocation at Cedar Lane as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Overnight 30-Minute Traffic Stoppages on I-66 Near Vienna Metrorail Station Continue Tonight, Next Week for Vaden Drive Bridge Beam Lifts

FAIRFAX – Stoppages of up to 30 minutes on I-66 near the Vienna Metrorail Station are planned to continue tonight, Friday, June 19, and next week for beam lifts for the new Vaden Drive Bridge. The work will reduce I-66 East to a single travel lane during overnight hours tonight, Friday, June 19. Planned work next week will start with overnight lane closures and traffic stoppages on I-66 East on Monday, June 22, through Wednesday, June 24, and on I-66 West from Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, June 26. Work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – The ramp from northbound Nutley Street to I-66 East is scheduled to close during the daytime hours of Tuesday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., so that Dominion Energy can work on overhead wires along the ramp to I-66 East as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Traffic will be directed to the exit for I-66 West, stay to the right for Nutley Street South, and then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.

Traffic Pattern Changes at Nutley Street/I-66 Interchange Starting on or about Wednesday, June 24

FAIRFAX – Drivers on southbound Nutley Street will use a new ramp and traffic signal to reach I-66 East beginning on or about Wednesday, June 24. This is the first of a series of temporary traffic pattern changes at the Nutley Street Interchange as construction of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project continues.

FAIRFAX – I-66 East will be reduced to a single travel lane with multiple 30-minute traffic stoppages between Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) and Nutley Street during overnight hours Monday, June 8, through Saturday, June 13, for crews to lift beams in place for the new Vaden Drive bridge over I-66. Drivers should expect delays and total traffic stoppages of up to 30 minutes in this area, and should consider using alternative routes. Stoppages are currently planned for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights.

FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages are planned for I-66 East and West on Tuesday, June 9, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., so that Dominion Energy can work on overhead wires just east of Nutley Street. Three full stoppages of approximately 20 minutes each in both directions of I-66 simultaneously are planned to accommodate this work, which is needed for theTransform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. Traffic stoppages will include the ramps from Nutley Street to I-66 East and from I-66 West to Nutley Street.

Traffic Stoppages Planned on I-66 in Manassas Area Tonight for Emergency Utility Repair

FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages are planned tonight on both directions of I-66 between Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) and Prince William Parkway so crews can perform emergency repairs to overhead utility lines. Work will begin after 7 p.m. and include at least two 20-minute, slow-roll closures of all lanes.

Cedar Lane Bridge Demolition, Beam Removal to Require Overnight Lane Closures and Traffic Stoppages on I-66 This Weekend and Next Week

FAIRFAX – Demolition of the Cedar Lane Bridge over I-66 in Vienna continues during daytime and overnight hours this weekend and next week. Lane closures will be required on I-66 East and West nightly to safely conduct bridge deck demolition and beam removal over the roadway. The bridge is being demolished and rebuilt to accommodate the widening of I-66, as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Overnight Closure of Ramp from I-66 East to Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) Friday, June 5

FAIRFAX – The ramp from I-66 East to southbound Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) will be closed Friday night, June 5, between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.  Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to the exit for Route 234 Business (Sudley Road), turn left to proceed north on Sudley Road, turn left at the traffic signal for I-66 West, then follow signs to Prince William Parkway South.
