FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Route 50 West will be closed from the ramp to I-66 East to the ramp to the Fair Oaks Mall entrance during the overnight hours tonight, Tuesday, July 18, between midnight and 5 a.m. for paving. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

FAIRFAX – Monument Drive North over I-66 in Fairfax will be reduced to a single travel lane during both daytime and overnight hours beginning around 9 a.m. on or about Tuesday, July 18, continuously through 6 a.m. Saturday, July 22, for bridge joint repair and median construction. The right turn lane to access the 66 Express Lanes East will remain open. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

UPDATE (7/13/2023): This work will now start at 10 p.m. with a double lane closure on I-495 North. The triple lane closure on the northbound general-purpose lanes will begin at 11 p.m. The 495 Express Lanes North full closure will begin at 10 p.m. All lanes on both roadways will be cleared by 5 a.m.

Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages for cranes to remove the overhead structure. This work will also require the 495 Express Lanes North to be closed from Robinson Terminal (the beginning of the express lanes) to I-66 at the same time. This work is being done as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

FAIRFAX – Monument Drive over I-66 in Fairfax will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction starting at 6 a.m. on or about Monday, July 10, for bridge joint replacement and median construction. This traffic pattern will remain in place for about one week, through approximately 6 a.m. Monday, July 17.

FAIRFAX – Fair Lakes Circle East will be closed between Fair Lakes Parkway and Roger Stover Drive from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday, July 9, for milling work. Paving will then require the eastbound lanes to be closed on Wednesday night, July 12, and possibly also on Thursday night, July 13. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
